Hamilton, VA Offers Small-Town Fun to Enjoy

Settled by Quakers in the 1700s, Hamilton, established in 1835, is quintessential small-town. It features attractive Victorian homes with manicured lawns and picket fences on shady tree-lined streets. It is common to see kids playing in the parks nearby oftentimes. A weekend retreat from the heat of Washington, D.C. in the late 1800s – the W&OD railway line stopped just south of town. Today's Hamilton is more residential, but visitors come on weekends for the surrounding wineries and breweries and nearby Purcellville restaurants. More can be found here.

Wegmeyer Farms

Lowry's Crab Shack

One of the things you are sure to find in Hamilton is dining spots as a residential community. As such, there are many options for you to choose from as you please. On one end of town is rustic Lowry's Crab Shack, serving oysters, shrimp, fish, and hard and softshell Maryland crabs to loyal locals. At the other end is Hamilton Station Pizza & Gastropub with excellent burgers, steak, tuna salads, pizza, and craft ales in a carpeted lounge bar setting.
